  • Domination at DCA

In a high-stakes, win-or-go-home match at Donelson Christian Academy, the USN Tigers played the match of the season to finally conquer the Wildcats after two close losses earlier this year. Knowing that victory was the only option, the Tigers came out with cohesive play, aggressive energy, and complete control over the match.
Though nerves showed in the first set, once that passed, the Tigers took command and made it clear they were not leaving DCA without a win. The Tigers dominated the Wildcats in four sets, securing their first play-in tournament victory in many years. This monumental win not only sent the Tigers to the district tournament but also earned them a spot in the regional play-in game—truly a big-time win for the program. The Tigers showed heart, skill, and determination all night long, proving they can rise to the biggest challenge of the season. Their next challenge awaits in the district tournament! Go Tigers!

  • Senior Night 2025!

Senior Night could not have been scripted any better as the Tigers delivered an electrifying performance in front of a packed gym filled with students, parents, and fans there to honor the team’s four seniors. The energy was unmatched from the opening serve, and the Tigers fed off the crowd to stay in control from start to finish, securing a memorable victory to close out their home schedule. The Tigers were dominant on every level, racking up 9 aces from the service line, pounding down 37 kills, and spreading the offense with 36 assists. Defensively, the back row dug deep with an incredible 74 digs, while the net was locked down with 7 blocks to stifle Webb’s attack. What made the night even more special was the way the Tigers celebrated their seniors—not only allowing them to play their normal positions where they’ve shined all season but also giving them chances to step into new spots on the court for some extra fun. Every senior soaked in the moment, playing their final home match as Tigers with smiles, excitement, and plenty of confidence. It was a night filled with joy, energy, and plenty of Tiger pride as the seniors closed their home careers in the best way possible—with a big win in front of their biggest supporters. A night to remember for the Tigers family!

The Tigers roared to victory in an exciting sweep over Ezell Harding Christian School, evening up their district record at 4-4! From the first serve to the final point, the team brought energy, focus, and determination. After pulling away late to win the opening set 25-22, the Tigers found their groove and never looked back—cruising through the second set 25-16 before finishing strong with a commanding 25-10 victory in the third. It was a true team effort with standout numbers across the board. • An Unbeaten Team No More!

The Tigers traveled to face unbeaten Goodpasture Christian School on September 18th in what promised to be a challenging matchup. Goodpasture entered the night celebrating senior night with a perfect record, having not dropped a single set all season. The Tigers, fueled by momentum from a recent sweep, came in with one goal—take a set from the Cougars. The first two sets appeared to follow the script of Goodpasture’s previous matches, as the Tigers fell 15-25 and 20-25. But refusing to back down, the Tigers regrouped and came out with determination in set three. With a change in setters and offensive strategy, relentless defense, and a two unstoppable freshman outside hitters (Yori and Sarah), they controlled the pace from start to finish, securing a 25-21 victory to hand the Cougars their first lost set of the season! Riding that momentum, the Tigers carried their energy into the fourth set. Once again, their strong attacks from the outside, powerful serving and refusal to quit paid off as they edged out Goodpasture, 25-22, forcing a decisive fifth set and stunning the home crowd. In the final set, the Tigers fell behind early, 0-6, and though they battled hard to climb back, the Cougars closed out the match with a 15-8 victory over the Tigers. Even in defeat, the Tigers walked away with pride, proving that they can push the district’s top team to the limit and setting a new standard for what they are capable of moving forward. The Tigers will finish out the regular season next week with matches against Ezell Harding (September 24th) and The Webb School (September 25th).

  • The Tigers Struggled To Find A Groove

The Tigers took the court Monday evening against a talented FRA Panthers team, ultimately falling in three sets (18-25, 12-25, 21-25). While the team struggled to find rhythm in the first two sets, they responded with renewed energy after moving our setter (Mia) to the OH position in the third set. Mia provided the needed extra communication and defensive effort on the back row while also making smart and aggressive plays from the outside. Though the Panthers came away with the victory, this match served as a valuable opportunity for the Tigers to measure themselves against tough competition and continue building the chemistry and consistency that will carry them through the rest of their season. The Tigers finished with a total of 12 kills, 42 digs and 7 blocks.

  • Sickness for the Tigers

The Tigers fell in three sets (9-25, 13-25, 21-25) in their matchup against Friendship Christian School. Illness left the roster shorthanded, and the slow start with too many early errors made it difficult to stay close in the opening sets. As the match went on, the energy level grew, mistakes decreased, and the group battled hard to close the gap in the third set. Despite the loss, the players showed strong effort given the circumstances. The team finished with 3 aces, 26 kills and 16 digs. We are looking forward to having a full lineup for Thursday’s home match against the Saints.
