The MS JV Tigers got down early in the first set to BA on Wednesday afternoon and could not recover. The second set started the same way but this time the Tigers showed their stripes and battled back to make it a very close set. Still, it wasn't enough and the Tigers lost the match 0-2. Kenzie Burke and Layla Omary led the Tigers on offense and defense.
  • Tigers Lose But Are Showing Improvement

    Doug Brown
The varsity Tigers hosted BA on Wednesday afternoon in the Sperling Gym. The Tigers dropped the first set 16-25 after a rash of missed opportunities and some very good play by our opponents. In the second set, the girls were down 9-17 when Madison Rhodes stepped to the service line and proceeded to score 8 strait points, tying the game 17-17! Hattie Bishop had probably her best game as our Libero, taking most of BA's serves and delivering high passes on our first touch. Indigo Petraglia contributed offensively with a couple of nice swings at the net. BA pulled away to win the game 18-25. The Varsity Tigers are now 2-2 on the season.
  • JV Tigers Pick Up First Win

    Doug Brown
The MS JV Tigers defeated Poplar Grove on Monday 2-0. In the first set, the Tigers had to come from behind after a quick PG start. The Tigers served really well down the stretch, led by Savannah Ross and Naomi Asfaw, to take the first set 25-23. The second set was all Tigers! The JV jumped out to a big lead and didn't look back, winning 25-11. Mimi Blind, Kenzie Burke, and Jeanie Jansen controlled the net, while Norah Clarke directed the back end. Next match is Wed. vs Brentwood Academy. Go, Tigers!
  • Varsity Tigers Win at Poplar Grove

    Doug Brown
The Varsity Tigers continued their winning ways on Monday with a win over Poplar Grove, 25-13 & 25-12. Madison Rhodes and Zoe Russell led the way with several long serving streaks. Front line players Yori Crozier and Genevieve Pace each had multiple kills for the Tigers, and Elinor Bird played in her first match of the year...Welcome Back, Elinor!
  • Varsity Tigers Beat Lipscomb Academy

    Doug Brown
The MS Varsity Tigers were able to bounce back after their loss to FRA on Monday with an outstanding, winning effort on Wednesday. The Tigers served lights-out in the first game and when the Mustangs did get the ball over the net, it was...pass...set...spike over and over again. The combination of Madison Rhodes and Yori Crozier was a sight to see! The Tigers won the first game 25-10. The Mustangs didn't go quietly into the night, however, and bounced by to win the second game 24-26. After winning the coin toss to serve the final game, Madison Rhodes then proceeded to put three quick points on the board. Sarah Ajang and Enya Joseph then stepped in to close the game out from the service line. Tigers win 15-9 and the match 2-1. Go, Tigers!
  • JV Tigers Show Improvement

    Doug Brown
The JV Tigers played significantly better on Wednesday in their match vs Lipscomb Academy. Savannah Ross led the Tigers from the service line, collecting eight points on her serve. The Tigers still need to work on shoring up their defense, but huge strides were made today by both of the JV teams. Go, Tigers!
  • Tigers Drop Their First Match

    Doug Brown
The MS Junior Varsity Tigers ran into a really talented JV squad from FRA on Monday, dropping their first match of the season 0-2. These fresh young Tigers did produce some plays of note, particularly from Tate Dawkins and Amelie Schuetz Sevin. Tate and Amelie played their very first games at the setter position and did quite well for it being their first time. Go, Tigers!
  • Varisty Tigers Battle but Lose Opener

    Doug Brown
The MS Varsity looked sharp in the first game of the match, with a couple of long service runs and some excellent passing from the back line. In the second game, the Tigers looked out of sync and got behind really early in the game. Unfortunately, our late charge at the end wasn't enough and we lost the match 0-2. Sarah Ajang and Ruth Boehler lead the Tigers.
