  • Closing Out The Season On A High Note

The JV Tigers ended their regular season schedule with back to back wins against Ezell-Harding Christian School (25-18, 25-14) and Webb School (25-12, 25-15). Both of these 2 set wins displayed a ton of energy by the Tigers. These matches were also great momentum going into the weekend where they competed in the JV Region Tournament hosted by Nashville Christian School. The tournament had a total of 13 teams out of the TSSAA Middle Region that competed. The Tigers were seeded #2 out of 7 teams from our District 4.  Highlights from the tournament were that the Tigers defeated Franklin Road Academy in straight sets! We also defeated Goodpasture Christian School for the second time meeting them this season! There were two matches where our back were against the wall, facing likely defeat, and the Tigers dug in with grit and pulled off a wins! The Tigers made it to the semi-finals on Saturday where they were ultimately defeated by the champions: Providence Christian Academy. Player highlights: Elinor Bird's serving - She scores 70% of the time when she serves!!! Huge stat for us and her! Also, Johanna Neff took opportunity to step in during a couple matches and bring some great energy and excitement to the team dynamic. Captains: Yori Crozier, Maddison Rhodes and Zoe Russell contributed in needful and substantial ways. They definitely led this team all season. Madison Rhodes and Zoe Russell were named to the all-regional team. We finished the season with a 14-5 record for all games (including tournaments) played. Great season Lady Tigers!!
  • Big Week For Our JV Tigers

The Tigers wrapped up a big week of volleyball action with three competitive matches that tested and proved their growth as a team. They opened the stretch against a non-district opponent, FRA, who was the strongest team they have faced all season. Despite the loss, the Tigers showed grit and gained valuable experience against one of the top programs in the region. Bouncing back quickly, the Tigers put together a commanding performance against the Clarksville Academy Cougars. Behind contributions from every player on the roster, they secured a dominant two-set sweep, using tough serving and powerful offense to overwhelm their opponent. The highlight of the week came in their matchup against volleyball powerhouse Goodpasture Christian School. Entering the contest as underdogs, the Tigers rose to the challenge and stunned the Cougars in straight sets. With energy from the service line, strong execution at the net, and relentless defense, they controlled the match and walked away with a signature win over one of the district’s most respected programs. This stretch of matches showcased the Tigers’ resilience, teamwork, and ability to compete at the highest level, signaling that big things are ahead for this group!!
  • Learn and Grow

JV volleyball continues to learn and grow with each game. While Tuesday match against Friendship Christian School was the first defeat of the season, we learned valuable lessons about mindset and covering the block better. Ruby had a great game between strong serving and great attacking on the left side. One of the highlights was Amelie’s one handed set in the second set. Amelie also had a great block. We are back in the gym getting ready for a busy schedule next week with 3 games. Hope to see you there!
  • Keeping the Winning Streak Alive

The JV team continues their winning streak with their most recent win over Nashville Christian. The Tigers displayed a strong serving and defensive skill set throughout the match. Norah led the team with aggressive serving and digs while Zoe put up a huge block on the front row. Yori had plenty of kills and smart plays to keep putting points on the board. The Tigers took the win in two sets against Nashville Christian. The Tigers will play again on Tuesday, September 9th against Friendship Christian School in Lebanon, TN.

  • Season Opener - Tigers WIN!

The JV Tiger's opening match ended in a win! What a great way to start the season. Everyone on the team played in the match which speaks to the depth we have on the team this year. The match went to three sets making this an exciting game to watch. Many of the girls played club volleyball during the off season. This will be a huge asset for us to be competitive this year. We have a strong libero, Nora, who gets after every ball and has stepped up in being a leader in the back row. Our front row, led by Yori and Zoe, both made a huge impact offensively! Also, Maddie as our setter, made great play after great play whether on defense or running an effective offense. We are optimistic for a winning season this year.
  • The Tigers Take Another Win!

Our first away match and second win of the season has the JV team 2-0 in conference. This was a great game for the offense to run a few different plays such as a back quick (back-1 or C) and a GO attack. We’ve been working really hard on our serving game. This paid off in this game in keeping Davidson having to run a lot of out of system plays. This worked out well for us making reading the defensive plays easier and to transition to offense. During the second set, we got to see Alayna run the offense. She did a great job both serving and setting. Genevieve made several smart plays as our middle attacker in putting the ball where the defense wasn’t. Bre contributed in the back row as a strong server and step in to set the ball on occasion. With two wins under our belt, we are looking forward to our next game at Nashville Christian on Thursday September 4. Our next HOME game is Monday September 15 at 4:30pm.
