Pop Prep narrowly defeats Tigers

After a long High School Field Day and finishing our match against MTCS, we were set to do battle against the Knights of Pope Prep. Since Pope Prep is in the larger private school division, we played the format of three doubles matches and six singles matches. We needed to win two out of the three doubles matches to earn one point and then the six singles matches each count for one point. We started out with singles and started strong with wins at line 1 and line 6. Henry '23 was able to win 8-0 and Rohan '25 won 8-3. Pope Prep were able to pick up the remaining four singles matches, giving them the win leading 4-2. I am very proud of the effort that our team showed by not giving up and competing hard until the very end. It was that determination that allowed us to pick up the doubles point with wins by Henry '23 and Bennett '23 and line 1 doubles and Conor '23 and Rohan '25 at line 3 doubles. It was another great full afternoon of tennis! We will be back in action on Monday, April 17th against Merrol Hyde at the River Campus.
