Welcome back, Tigers! Our fall teams have been hard at work this summer training. Golf, volleyball, mountain biking, girls soccer, cross country, and our football co-op have officially started their seasons, and some of the teams had their first competitions this week. We hope you join us in cheering on our athletes this season as they compete.

We kick off our River Campus home matches on Friday, August 21 as our girls soccer team takes on Hillsboro High School at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. Daddy’s Dogs will be there, so come hungry. Looking ahead to next week, Fall Spirit Night is on Tuesday, August 25 in Sperling Gym for our volleyball home opener. There will be a Spirit Store pop-up, crafts, school swag, face painting, a photo booth, Daddy’s Dogs, and more!

Golf
On August 18, the Varsity team competed in their first match of the season against Goodpasture Christian School and Donelson Christian Academy. There was strong competition from all schools, but ultimately we shot 184, losing to both schools with Goodpasture shooting 177, and Donelson shooting 164. While it wasn’t the result the team wanted, a lot was learned. The team continues to practice and prepare for their next match on Monday, August 24 against Nashville Christian School.

Volleyball
Both JV and Varsity teams traveled to Franklin Road Academy to play their first matches of the season. Kicking things off, the JV team had close competition and won their first set 26-24 and their second set, defeating FRA JV 2-0. Varsity took the court next. The competition was tough, with the Tigers playing hard and making smart plays. Ultimately, they did not secure a win in the first three sets, ending the match with a final score of 0-3. Catch the teams at their next home game on Spirit Night, Tuesday, August 25.

Girls’ Soccer
The Tigers won their first match of the season 1-0 on the road at Valor Collegiate Academies. Natalie Choe ‘28 netted the lone goal of the game on an assist from Elisabeth Crane ‘27. The back line played well in front of netminder Ansley Martin ‘27 who made key saves for the shutout. The team will be back in action for the home opener on Friday, August 21 at home as they host Hillsboro High School.
