Getting Better Everyday!

Game recognizes game. It's always exciting to get the compliment "they improved each set" or "they only got better as the game went on." And that' what happened during this game. USN lost the first set 20-25, won 25-16, and then lost a hard 13-15 set.
What an electrifying game! Both teams had strong serving, but it was defense that determined the winner. Serve receive is arguably the hardest thing to do at this level. It requires great chemistry, timing, and good passing technique. While both teams struggled getting good passes out of their serve receive, it was Franklin Road Academy who found more opportunities to swing away and put away spikes. The Tigers meet that offense with diving, tracking balls out of bounds, and constant cheering; their focus took this game to the next level!

It was such a great game to watch and experience, because each team truly challenged each other to be better. While the match went to three sets everything was a blur with fans, family, schoolmates going wild after each rally. Even when the final point went to Franklin Road Academy it was a game that the Tigers could be proud of. 

As this team gets better every practice, every set, and every match it speaks to a culture of support, belief, and a desire to grow. Next home game, come watch these Tigers as they inspire the crowd to get on their feet and join the team as they coordinate cheers and fight for opportunities to win

    The girls lacrosse team ended its season in overtime to become state runner-up. Tennis players Carter Kojetin '29 finished as a state quarterfinalist, Sophie Oliver '26 and Mary Kate Adler '28 finished as state semifinalists, and Veer Kodali '29 and Max Parker '29 finished as state champions. Meanwhile, eight runners competed at the state track and field meet in Knoxville, where Griffin Davidson '27, Caleb Freifeld '28, Drew Zwerner '28, and Jack Fruin '27, sprinted to first in the 4x800m relay and Jack also placed first in the 800m dash.
