With their long awaited debut race of the season at Oakville Mounds, the top track of “Life of a USN XC Runner” today was PR!!!
On the girls side, Madeleine led the charge from start to finish, earning a lifetime PR of 19:46, placing 3rd overall in a field of 350! Jackie and Norah sped through next with an impressive pair of nearly 1 min PRs (21:20 & 21:53) placing just outside top 30. Rounding out the top five were newcomer and dynamic duo seniors Sadie Mae and Lyla dropping 2min and 90s respectively, for huge barrier breaker time drops of 23:03 & 23:04. Adelaide and Laura earned the coveted 6/7 spots of the team, each also dropping over a minute from their previous best season races! Other gritty PR efforts were given by Kenzie, Emmeline, Ella, and Mia - who earned the largest PR of the day, shaving off 3 whole minutes to break not just 30, but also 29min for the first time!
The girls team placed 7th out of 35 teams, in the highest division we’ve raced in for the last 5 years.

The varsity boys, racing up a division (or maybe two), ended up without three of the Fab Four due to injuries that we hope prove to be minor. Jack Fruin, the lone member to complete the race, battled near the front of the 400-runner field, finishing in 10th in a new PR of 16:14, the fourth fastest time in USNXC history. Behind, more PRs followed, notably with James Little breaking 18 minutes for the first time and Mario Tedeschi breaking 19 for the first time. Sean Franke nearly broke 20 in his race, and was our fifth and final scoring runner. The team without three of the top four, running up a few divisions, finished 25th out of 50 teams.
The JV boys also ran well, led by Elliott Carlson, breaking 20 minutes, and Finch Fleming and Morgan McAteer nearly breaking 20. PRs abounded - with big time drops from Abe Boehler (running in borrowed shoes far too big!), Charlie Brackett, Yother Phillips, Devin McAteer, Bennett Paddon, Marcelo Saoud, Knox Followill, and Rishav Reddy.

Spring sports season ends with podium finishes, trophies
The girls lacrosse team ended its season in overtime to become state runner-up. Tennis players Carter Kojetin '29 finished as a state quarterfinalist, Sophie Oliver '26 and Mary Kate Adler '28 finished as state semifinalists, and Veer Kodali '29 and Max Parker '29 finished as state champions. Meanwhile, eight runners competed at the state track and field meet in Knoxville, where Griffin Davidson '27, Caleb Freifeld '28, Drew Zwerner '28, and Jack Fruin '27, sprinted to first in the 4x800m relay and Jack also placed first in the 800m dash.Read More -

Middle School Quiz Bowl competes at national championship
The Middle School Quiz Bowl finished off another successful season with a trip to the Middle School National Championship Tournament in Chicago. The team fought hard and ended the season as a top-100 program in the country, finishing 75th overall. Congratulations to the team on a great performance and to Lucas Lupu ’31, named an All Star for being the fifth-highest scorer nationwide.Read More
