Eva '26 earns C-SPAN honors for fourth time
C-SPAN has recognized Eva Choe '26 for her StudentCam documentary for the fourth year. She will receive a cash award for her documentary about President George Washington's Farewell Address, which can be viewed here.

“As we recognize America's 250th anniversary, this year's StudentCam participants masterfully documented important political as well as societal issues and key moments from our nation's history through compelling videos that highlight the values and enduring legacy of the Declaration of Independence,” said C-SPAN’s Director of Education Relations Craig McAndrew. “Each of their prize-winning videos is sure to spark meaningful reflections among viewers across the country and inspire future generations of filmmakers. On behalf of everyone at C-SPAN, congratulations to the exceptionally gifted young people who triumphed in the 22nd annual competition.”
The annual StudentCam competition is funded by the C-SPAN Education Foundation. Videos were evaluated by a panel of educators and C-SPAN representatives based on the thoughtful examination of the competition’s theme, quality of expression, inclusion of varying sides of the documentary’s topic, and effective incorporation of C-SPAN programming.

Eva Choe '26 has earned national recognition as a 2026 honorable mention prize winner in C-SPAN’s annual StudentCam documentary competition. Eva will receive a cash award for the documentary, “Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow: The Lessons of a Farewell,” about President George Washington's Farewell Address. Eva is among 97 honorable mentions nationwide, selected from more than 1,800 documentary submissions submitted by 4,000 students.
This year is Eva's fourth time earning recognition from C-SPAN. She received an Honorable Mention win in 2023 and a Third Prize win in 2024, with the television network sending a representative to University School of Nashville to present the award during a High School Assembly in May 2025. Her past videos addressed topics like political polarization, education, diversity, and history. This year, Head of High School Chai Reddy recognized Eva's accomplishment from the lectern.
"This is an impressive achievement and a testament to your hard work and dedication," U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn wrote in a congratulatory letter to Eva. "I have no doubt this accomplishment will serve as a strong foundation for your future success."
In recognition of the United States’ 250th anniversary, C-SPAN challenged middle and high school students across the country to examine the enduring power and relevance of the Declaration of Independence by exploring either its influence on a key moment from America’s 250-year history or how the values stated in the foundational document touch on a contemporary issue impacting them or their communities. This year is Eva's fourth time earning recognition from C-SPAN. Through this project-based learning experience, students engaged in in-depth research, critical analysis, and original storytelling to explore matters of both personal and national importance.

HS athletics recaps for September 11-17
Tiger golfers have officially qualified for the region tournament, and our other teams are not far behind. Volleyball sits near the top of the district, finishing up regular season play next week with Senior Night. Girls soccer continues to hold first place in the district after another 9-0 win, and our cross country runners are chasing after some school records. To round it all out, our mountain bike team traveled to Oakfield to continue to improve on their times for the season.
