Nashville’s HBCU Fair returns August 22

University School of Nashville invites all public, private, and charter high school students and their families to meet admissions officers from historically Black colleges and universities. Register at usn.org/HBCUfair.

For the fifth consecutive year, Nashville’s HBCU Fair will return to University School of Nashville.

Save the date, Saturday, August 22, for Nashville's fifth Annual HBCU Fair, which will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 22, at University School of Nashville, 2000 Edgehill Ave. The parking lot and main entrance to the school are accessible only from 19th Avenue South.

This free event will give Middle Tennessee high school students and their families the opportunity to meet with admissions officers and administrators from historically Black colleges and universities throughout the country. Last year, over 800 people attended the HBCU Fair, where admissions officers advised prospective students on selecting the right college and scholarship opportunities. 

HBCUs present in 2025 were Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, Alcorn State University, American Baptist College, Bethune-Cookman University, Clark Atlanta University, Fisk University, Hampton University, Jackson State University, Morehouse College, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, North Carolina Central University, Spelman College, Tennessee State University, Tougaloo College, and Tuskegee University.

As a special highlight of the fair, students and their families will have the unique opportunity to hear from a special guest speaker, who will be announced at a later date.

Tennis players Carter Kojetin '29 finished as a state quarterfinalist, Sophie Oliver '26 and Mary Kate Adler '28 finished as state semifinalists, and Veer Kodali '29 and Max Parker '29 finished as state champions.     Middle School Quiz Bowl competes at national championship

    The Middle School Quiz Bowl finished off another successful season with a trip to the Middle School National Championship Tournament in Chicago. The team fought hard and ended the season as a top-100 program in the country, finishing 75th overall. Congratulations to the team on a great performance and to Lucas Lupu ’31, named an All Star for being the fifth-highest scorer nationwide.
