HS Quiz Bowl continues success, qualifies for nationals

The Quiz Bowl team won second place in the South Warren Spartan Open tournament, qualifying the team for the 2026 High School National Championship tournament. Congratulations to Basil Broemel '28 and Jasmine Horwitz '26 for placing seventh and ninth, respectively.

On Saturday, November 22, University School of Nashville's High School Quiz Bowl team won second place in the South Warren Spartan Open tournament. Students' strong performance in a field of 32 teams has earned USN a bid to the 2026 High School National Championship tournament.

Additionally, two USN students won individual awards for being among the top 10 individual scorers. Basil Broemel '28 won the seventh-place individual award with four powers, 33 toss-ups, and an average of 78 points per 20 toss-ups heard. Jasmine Horwitz '26 won the ninth-place individual award with 17 powers and 10 toss-ups, and an average of 71 points per 20 toss-ups heard.
