'The Lion King JR.' returns to USN August 19-22

Celebrating his 20th year at University School of Nashville and 20th Middle School Musical production, Theater Director Bakari King brings the Pride Lands to life in “The Lion King JR.,” Wednesday, August 19 through Saturday, August 22. Please join us to see these talented performers take the stage, guided by King to find their place in the Circle of Life. USN students last performed this show with King in August 2015, and some of those alumni have gone on to perform on Broadway.
 
Performances take place at Nashville Children’s Theatre, 25 Middleton St., Nashville, TN 37210.  Showtimes are:
  • Wednesday, August 19 at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m.
  • Friday, August 21 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 22 at 2 p.m.   
Tickets are $10 each and are on sale here.

    University School of Nashville is excited to announce the return of curricular travel opportunities. Student applications for the 2026-2026 school year will open Friday, August 21, 2026. Additional details, including, financial aid processes, and application timelines, will be shared with families soon.
