Students ace National Latin Exam

The American Classical League recognized 36 University School of Nashville students for their scores on the National Latin Exam this year. Congratulations to Lucas Lupu ’31 and Zoey Wei ’31, who received perfect scores on the exam.

The American Classical League recognized 36 Latin Scholars for their performance on the National Latin Exam.

Lucas Lupu ’31 and Zoey Wei ’31  had perfect exams. To put that in context, in 2025, just 1,100 of the 100,000 students who took the exam scored perfectly.

Including Lucas and Zoey, 12 Scholars received the highest award, Gold Summa Cum Laude: Rose Doyle ’30, Ian Drewry ’30, Max Haber ’31, Elliott Karpinos ’31, James Keiper ’31, Lucas Lupu ’31, Lily Miller ’31, Sulaiman Moskinzada ’31, Karsen Puzniak ’27, Eva Tranquilut ’31, Claire Yu ’30, and Zoey Wei ’31.

The American Classical League gave Silver Maxima Cum Laude to Corinna Collier ’30, Mac Perry ’30, Phoebe Schneider ’30, Rose Shellaway ’31, and Crockett Zieher ’31.

Eleven scholars were Magna Cum Laude: Barry Chen ’30, Clio Cherry-Pulay ’29, Dalton Dervan ’28, Lucia Gellert ’27, Liam McLaughlin ’30, Hattie Molvig ’29, Connor Mulron ’31, Isabella Naim ’29, Anand Pastakia ’30, Teddy Sauer ’31, and Charlotte Shinohara ’30.

Matthew Golann ’29, Rosie Hauser ’30, Asher Huffman ’29, Gil Jones ’29, Nora O’Loughlin ’30, Peyton Peglow ’26, and Maggie Weiss ’28 were Cum Laude winners.

Congrats to each of these scholars on their stellar performance.

  • HS athletics recaps for September 3-10

    The Tigers have come back strong after time away on retreats & a holiday weekend. While golf is nearing the end of its season, cross country and mountain biking are still at the beginning. Both teams are heading away to races this weekend. Girls soccer and volleyball are about halfway through their regular season competition, both teams with exciting district wins and more games to be played determining their standings for post season competition.

    Our Middle School teams have been crushing the courts this week. With strong performances by all volleyball teams and wins for both boys and girls tennis, the Tigers aren’t slowing down as they reach the midpoint of their seasons. Mountain biking will hit the trails for race No. 2 this weekend, and cross country runners crushed their first home meet.

  • Mountain Bike Team Race #1 Report - Chickasaw Trace Trails

    The Mountain bike team began its 13th season as it almost always does, with anticipation high and mindful of the high heat on the trails on the banks of the Duck River at Chickasaw Trace park outside of Columbia, TN. Over 650 mountain bikers in grades 5-12 from across the state competed at this first race of the NICA-TICL season.
