Complete team play lifts the Tigers over the Panthers.
The Tigers came out strong in the first quarter, winning draws and focusing on our season's goals of possessing the ball and communicating on defense. We showed a lot of success and came out of the first quarter up 5-1. We got a little confident in the second and had some unforced errors that let FRA climb back into the game.
At halftime, we pulled it together and recommitted to our goals. Strong ball handling from Margaret McKay '25, Lyla Ross '26, and Zelle Jones '25 in the midfield helped us keep the ball in the last stretch of the game to take almost 6 minutes off the clock to keep the lead with the Tigers. Kate Vaughn '24 had to face a strong shooter on a free position shot with about two minutes remaining and came up with a HUGE save (one of 8 for the day!) to keep us with a two goal lead. The Tigers were able to maintain possession for the remainder of the game, giving us a 9-7 win over FRA. It was a huge win for us! GO TIGERS!
