Independent schools career fair is Feb. 9
A career fair to help USN and other independent schools attract interested and qualified minority faculty and staff will take place at USN from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.

University School of Nashville will host the Independent Schools' People of Color Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 in the Gordon Multipurpose Room.
"As Nashville continues to grow, we want to tap into the diversity and experiences of the talent moving here to enrich the educational experiences of our students, faculty, and staff as well as those at our peer institutions," said Roderick White, diversity & community life director.
This fair is open to all independent schools in Tennessee as well as all people of color seeking employment. People of color include persons of African, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Hispanic descent as well as multiracial people. K-12 faculty positions include full-time teaching, administrator, teaching assistant, and substitute teacher positions.
USN has a longstanding commitment to attract students of diverse backgrounds and strives to mirror the cultural and ethnic composition of Metro Nashville. Some 36% of its student body are children of color, and one in every five employees is a minority. USN's predecessor Peabody Demonstration School became the second Nashville independent school to integrate in 1964. To view and apply for open positions at USN, visit usn.org/jobs.

HS athletics recaps for September 11-17
Tiger golfers have officially qualified for the region tournament, and our other teams are not far behind. Volleyball sits near the top of the district, finishing up regular season play next week with Senior Night. Girls soccer continues to hold first place in the district after another 9-0 win, and our cross country runners are chasing after some school records. To round it all out, our mountain bike team traveled to Oakfield to continue to improve on their times for the season. There’s plenty more where that came from- so be sure to come out to the River Campus, Sperling Gym, or out on the road to cheer on our Tigers before their seasons end.Read More -
