Let's Go Tigers!

The Tigers were able to overcome the Wildcats in a tough 3 set match! 25-16, 16-15, and 15-9!
The Tigers made the trek out to Franklin to play Battle Ground Academy Monday evening. The Tigers utilized their serving to control the tempo throughout the game! Ryan Ricks ‘31 and Emma Tillman ‘31 each earned three aces, Margaux Soslow ‘31 earned four aces, and Serena Tanner ‘31 and Lily Miller ‘31 added an ace of their own! To top off an amazing team serving performance Margaux Soslow ‘31 connected a great pass to Allie Jackson ‘31, who set the ball for Ryan Ricks ‘31 to earn the kill! The Tigers won the first set 25-16.

In the second set the BGA Wildcats came out with fierceness and focus. The Wildcats got an early lead and the Tigers were trying their best to match their efforts. Lily Miller ‘31 added two more aces and London Shute ‘31 and Ryan Ricks ‘31 added one ace each. While the Tiger’s were able to make great plays throughout the set, the team had a tough time getting on the same page defensively, which led to the Tigers dropping the second set 16-25.

In the third set the Tigers and the Wildcats traded points back and forth, each team bringing great intensity and determination. To help boost the team, Serena Tanner ‘31 added three aces, Ryan Ricks added another two aces, and London Shute ‘31 added one! From there the Tiger’s were able to capitalize on every opportunity which helped them take and maintain the lead through the rest of the set. The Tigers won the tough set 15-9.

This game was tough! The Wildcats had a strong server and a great hitter that kept the Tiger’s on their toes! Throughout the match the Tigers had a lot of highs and a lot of lows. However, as the Tigers add more skills to their volleyball toolbox there will be growing pains with the adaptation and application of those new skills. This team will continue to push through the obstacles and find ways to get better everyday! Keep it up Tigers!
