At 4 p.m. Thursday, August 29, University School of Nashville's Arts Department will welcome its first artist of the year into the Tibbott Gallery. Michael Mucker is a Nashville legend. Mucker has been working for decades in the community as a painter, muralist, tattoo artist, community organizer, and youth volunteer. A pioneer of the North Nashville art scene, Mucker is exhibiting his "The Unrefined Collection" in the Tibbott Gallery. He has been building this body of work for over a decade, so it is an honor to be the first to exhibit these works as a collection. Inspired by his youth mentorship roles, his works feature many art forms, including children's reading books. The exhibit will be on display through Friday, September 27.
Artclectic is a three-day art show that benefits USN's Endowment for Innovating Teaching. Tara Goldberg, Grace Hu, and Felicia Tibbs are coordinating Artclectic 2024, taking place Thursday, October 17 through Saturday, October 19 in Sperling Gym.
