Senior Alima Kassim has committed to join Vanderbilt University's track and field team in fall 2024. While at USN, Alima broke several school records. She ran the 100-meter dash in 11.74 seconds this past spring and was part of the teams that set new school records for the 4x100m in 40.07 seconds in 2021 and 4x200m in 1:42.60 in 2022.

Dozens of Alima's medals, pendants, and race bibs were displayed during her signing ceremony Wednesday, December 13 in Durnan Auditorium. Coaches, friends, and family — including her sister Morayo Kassim '22, who runs for the University of Pennsylvania — joined her for the brief celebration, which included balloons, cupcakes, and reflections by her coaches.
