How to play through mistakes!
Grace Christian Academy won the first set with their serve 11-25. USN then came back with energy and determination taking back a win 25-23. In super entertaining third set USN lost 11-15.
Another great close game from the young Tigers, while they didn't get the win, those high pressure games will help sharpen all their skills when the pressure is the highest! Grace Christian Academy got the jump on the Tigers early with amazing, powerful deep serves that challenged USN decision making. Those serves set up Grace Christian for the win 11-25.
The Tigers bounced backed to win an action packed second set 25-23. Tigerlily Tashian helped make incredible off the net saves and Caroline Semler was a wall defensively in the front row and back row. This set was won to team defense and great hustle to finish tough plays.
The third set stayed tight and while Grace Christian's servers continued to be an offensive force, the Tigers were able to break their serving streak multiple times to keep them for taking over the game. Anna Brook had two big hits to energize the team, and Savannah Ross and Mahalia Moore each had two great aces to keep GCA on their toes. In the end the Tigers had some late miscommunications that allowed GCA to control the last few possessions of the game. USN lost 11-15 in an incredible game.
This game was a great example on how to lose. It was exciting, it was fun, and they learned so much. Both teams left the court with smiles and a greater respect for each other and the game. It was a great game to play heading into the HVAC Jr. tournament. As the 6th graders head for their class trip, it gives them time to reset and refocus since they have a great chance at making a run in the tournament. Let's go Tigers, good luck!

HS athletics recaps for September 11-17
Tiger golfers have officially qualified for the region tournament, and our other teams are not far behind. Volleyball sits near the top of the district, finishing up regular season play next week with Senior Night. Girls soccer continues to hold first place in the district after another 9-0 win, and our cross country runners are chasing after some school records. To round it all out, our mountain bike team traveled to Oakfield to continue to improve on their times for the season.
