The USN Tigers hosted the Grace Christian Lions on Monday evening. The Tigers stormed onto the court with a burst of energy, setting the tone for the first set with their aggressive offensive, strong serving and continual communication. This start left the Lions struggling to find an answer and the first set ended in the Tigers favor, 25-16. As the match progressed, however, the Tigers encountered difficulties in maintaining their initial momentum. The team that started strong began to experience fluctuations in their rhythm, allowing the Lions to gradually find their footing. Grace Christian Academy capitalized on the Tigers' occasional lapses in focus and aggression, gaining the confidence needed to battle hard against the Tigers. This back and forth between teams continued throughout the match. At the conclusion of the 4th set, scores were all tied up leading the match into a deciding fifth set (25-16, 19-25, 25-13, 23-25). The Lions were able to jump out early in the last set and the Tigers never could seem to catch up. The match ended in the Lions favor (7-15).
