Energy and Serving

Katie Roth
The USN Tigers came out with the win due to awesome energy from the bench and fans and due to their awesome serving!
It was an exciting first game for our 6th grade B-team! The past few weeks have been packed full with musical rehearsals, volleyball practices, and back to school schedules. Despite all that practice and dedication, it’s inevitable that there were some nerves, especially since they were playing a late away game for their season opener. Yet, this young team adjusted beautifully and found confidence easily as the game progressed. The energy from the fans and the cheering from their teammates kept everyone engaged and focused, and nothing breaks the tension like a good coordinated cheer!

The USN Tigers were able to have five of their six servers earn multiple aces (when the ball served by one team is unreturned by the other team/only touched by one player, resulting in an immediate point)! In addition to the serving, Hannah Smith and Leela Jain had great defensive plays, and Julia Ginsberg’s communication and leadership kept everyone rotating on time! It was an action packed game full of firsts and promises of growth! Wish them luck as this young team as it continues to grow and develop throughout the season! Go Tigers!
