Boys soccer draw with MBA

The first competition of the day was the coin toss with the winner playing with the wind in the first half. The wind was so strong it was able to change the direction of the ball in flight. Full credit to the Tigers for handling playing into the wind and scoring a well worked goal in the first half. Elijah McKnight won a tackle, quickly fed the ball to Cam Wooten, who cut inside on the dribble and slipped a ball on the ground in behind the MBA defenders leading Noah Kim’s well timed run to put him in 1 v 1 with the goal keeper. Noah calming slotted the ball into the back of the net.

While the wind settled down in the second half the USN Tigers upped their game and took control of central midfield to put pressure on the MBA box. A stand out performance from Thomas Mauries, both in center back and in center midfield, was an important component of USN‘s success taking over the midfield. Maurice’s long free kick eventually lead to Braylin Davis’ goal from in close to tie the game 2-2.
