Columbia Academy Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 3-2 loss to Columbia Academy on Tuesday. Columbia Academy scored on a single by Gibson and a walk by Kincaid in the first inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Columbia Academy pitchers struck out eight, while University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers sat down one.
Columbia Academy fired up the offense in the first inning. Gibson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Lee toed the rubber for Columbia Academy. The ace surrendered two runs on three hits over five and a third innings, striking out eight.
Owen Block was on the hill for University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers. The pitcher allowed two hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one. Mahoney Daunic threw two innings in relief.
Block went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers in hits.
Columbia Academy didn't commit a single error in the field. Gibson had the most chances in the field with eight.
