Natural Dyes on Cotton
Grades 9-12
Registration fee: $350
Instructor: Cara Young

June 6–10 (all day)
This camp will explore creating fabric with natural dyes like indigo leaves, marigold flowers, cochineal bugs, and more. Students will mix dye vats and design for a variety of applications including stencil, shibori stitch, and directing painting. They’ll learn how pH changes color and create patterned samples to use for clothing or sewing too. Campers need to bring two white 100% cotton T-shirts pre-washed in hot water. 

Music City Art Camp

Let’s play — this week young artists will explore music and art all week, Nashville style. It will be one creative week of fun. 

Block Printing Bonanza
Grades 7-12
Registration fee: $375
Instructor: Christopher Cheney, MS & HS Art Teacher

Join this introduction to the art of printmaking through the use of letterpress blocks. Campers will create and print one of a kind designs in a fun studio setting while building their knowledge of the tools of printmaking. Additionally, students will explore the endless possibilities of block printing while learning the techniques involved in pulling a good print and making a print edition.

Neverland Art Camp
Grades K-2

Ahoy matey! Come with us to the magic land of pirates and mermaids in this camp. Students will walk away with artwork for playing all summer long. 

Printmaking/Mixed Media
Grades 3-5

This camp will offer all the ways to create artwork by printing, or transferring images from one surface to another. Campers will look at artists who work in this medium and how printmaking is a part of our history and day-to-day lives. 

Rainbow Art Camp
Grades K-2
Registration fee: $220

All the colors of the rainbow will join us in this camp. Students will learn about colors and all the amazing things they can do while making beautiful works of art. We’ll have fun projects incorporating unicorns, dragons, and other mythical creatures too. 

Collage and Mixed Media Art
Grades 5-8

If you like to experiment with mixed media art projects, this camp is for you. Campers will have the opportunity to explore multiple techniques using paint, oil pastels, various papers and glue, vintage photographs, and text. Project possibilities during the week include collage, printmaking, drawings, stencils, and stamps. Projects will utilize found materials, exploration, creativity, and fun. 

Pottery on the Wheel
Grades 7-12
Registration fee: $200
Instructor: Catherine Lemaire-Lozier, Hassenfeld Library Assistant

This camp is entirely devoted to the pottery wheel. Students of all ability levels are welcome. Beginners will start with the basics, and experienced students will learn to make more advanced forms and improve their techniques. Students will glaze and fire their work and take it home. Campers should wear closed toed shoes and clothing that can get dirty.

Sculpture/Mixed Media
Grades 3-5

Mixed media provides endless opportunities for material, style, and design. Campers will experiment with collage, sculpture, and installations to create multi-layered works of art. 

Winter Wonderland Art Camp
Grades K-2

We’re chilling out this week with all things wintery. From polar bears to the North Pole, campers will have a great time dreaming of a winter wonderland.

Drawing and Painting
Grades 3-5

This is a great opportunity for those who want to really hone their drawing skills and learn more about painting techniques. This session will offer guidance and practice as well as introduce new techniques. 

Snail Mail Art Camp
Grades 2-5
Registration fee: $175
Instructor: Nathalie Van Balen
Dates:
July 5–8 (p.m.)
Have fun creating beautiful artworks to mail to friends and family in this camp. We will paint, draw, collage, make envelopes and marbled paper, and learn about artists who create unique postal works. Super cool vintage postage stamps will be provided. Please bring a list of 8-10 mailing addresses. 

Imagination Station
Grades K-2
Registration fee: $220
Instructor: Leighton Lancaster, Little Art House

July 11–15 (a.m.)
These magical campers will learn about artists who use fantastical imagery and learn how to create similar works. We will create magical worlds, mythical creatures, and transform into fairies and wizards too.
