Students support families in transition, experiencing homelessness

Thank you to all who contributed to the High School Community Service Organization's coat drive. It's not too late to donate. Keep reading to find out how.
By Greta Matthies '22

The High School Community Service Organization would love to thank all students and families who donated winter items to the all-school coat drive. All coats will be donated to the HERO Program for families in transition at Metro Nashville Public Schools, which provides support and services to more than 3,000 students who are experiencing homelessness. While the exact count on coats collected has not yet been determined, students estimate to have collected somewhere between 400 and 500 coats and other winter items.

If families still have coats or winter clothing to donate, they may deposit them into the bins around the High School that are labeled for the clothing swap. All winter items will be immediately donated. Thank you again.
