Parents and student drivers, we need your help. Here are some guidelines to keep our students & parking lots safe and to help us be a good neighbor to Vanderbilt University.

All parking spaces in the 19th and 21st Avenue lots are available to parents and visitors after 8 a.m. to give faculty, staff, and students the opportunity to park in their assigned lots.
Parents and guests may park in the hook-up lanes in the 19th or 21st Avenue lots between 8:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. If you are staying at USN later in the afternoon, please move your vehicle so that other families can make their way through the driveway during afternoon hook-up.
Overflow parking is available in Vanderbilt University Lot 77 on 18th Avenue South only during USN-announced special occasions such as orientations, Parents’ Day, Grandparents & Special Friends’ Day, and Commencement. USN parents and guests parking in any Vanderbilt lot during any other time may be ticketed or towed. USN families are not allowed to park in Vanderbilt lot 111.
There also are paid parking spaces at the Wesley Place Garage on Scarritt Place and metered spaces along 19th Avenue.
So that High School students who have paid for a USN parking permit can park in their assigned spaces in the 21st Avenue lot and Wesley Garage, other students who drive to school should secure their own off-campus parking. The Vanderbilt University Police Department will issue $75 tickets to vehicles parked in USN spots in the Wesley Garage without a USN parking permit.
The best time to arrive for afternoon hook-up is about 3:20 p.m. Arriving before school dismisses means not only parents waiting in cars but also vehicles overflowing from USN lots onto 19th and 21st avenues and congesting streets for through-passers. We want to be better neighbors than that.
Faculty and students spend up to 30 minutes in the 21st Avenue garage in the afternoons and enjoy breathing fresh air free of exhaust fumes. Please turn your car off instead of leaving an idle engine running.
We also ask that you refrain from cell phone usage while in the hook-up lines to keep drivers' attention on driving as we move hundreds of children in and out of school each morning and afternoon.
The senior has been awarded one of the most highly selective merit scholarships in the nation, making it two consecutive years that University of Virginia has selected a USN student for a full ride covering the cost of instruction, housing, and meals.
