Playground Work Day is Saturday, April 27

Volunteers will clean gravel off the deck, rake leaves, remove splinters and worn tires, sand and seal wood. Help us repair and maintain USN's 28-year-old playground by lending a hand between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27.

Each spring, faculty, parents, and students spend a full day keeping the 28-year-old USN playground in good repair for the youngest Tigers to enjoy.  Our main objectives this year are cleaning gravel off the decking, raking leaves, removing splinters and worn tires, sanding, and finally sealing it.

Please plan to join us
between 9 a.m. until about 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. Feel free to come whenever is convenient for you, whether you have just one hour or all day. School-age children are welcome to help. Flathead screwdrivers and extra brooms and rakes are helpful, but if you don’t have one or you forget, just bring yourself. If you have power tools and are interested in helping with heavier repair work, please contact USN friend Mark Meadors at 615-948-6112.

If it’s drizzling, we can do some work, if it pours, not so much. We share weather updates at usn.org.

If more work is needed, volunteers will gather at 9 a.m Sunday, April 28 as well, working until we finish.

Some streets surrounding USN, like Belmont Boulevard, Woodmont Boulevard, and Music Row will be closed during the morning for the St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2. Click here for the complete list of street closures and times to find detours to 2000 Edgehill.

Our beloved playground was designed by students and constructed by parents, teachers, and staff in five longs days in April 1991.
