By Rebecca Stokes, Director of Auxiliary Programs

University School of Nashville's beloved playground was designed by students and constructed by parents, teachers, and staff over five long days in April 1991. This year from 7 a.m. until about 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, we will all pitch in to keep it safe and in good repair. Our main objectives this year are spreading a thick layer of mulch, doing some splinter removal, and sanding of the wooden structure. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled.

Please bring your shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows from home. If you don’t have one or you forget, just bring yourself. There is always a little repair work to be done, so if you love power tools, have power tools, or just like to fix things, please email USN parent John Sullivan. We are so grateful to have John (outgoing President), Ronald Crozier (incoming President), and the rest of Dad's Alliance heading up repairs for this project.

Please feel free to come whenever is convenient for you, even if you have only an hour to spare. We have scheduled this early, hoping to beat the heat as much as possible. We will have plenty of water and refreshments to keep everyone hydrated and happy. Any time you have will make a huge difference. School-age children are welcome to help.

We need to get a headcount so that we can make sure to get this important work done on time. Please register here to let us know we can count on your help.
