On Tuesday, February 28, three USN pitchers teamed up to defeat Nashville Christian School in a shutout victory.

USN won the game 11-0 with NCS getting just one hit. Owen Block '23, Aidan Savona '23, and Grant Reilly '24 struck out 21 en route to victory. Dylan Washko '24, Andrew Walker '26, and Owen picked up multiple hits in the game. The boys face NCS again on Monday, March 6.

Meanwhile, February 24-25 the High School girls lacrosse team traveled to Louisville, Kentucky for the first time as a team to face Louisville Collegiate. Julia Spessard '23 lead the way with four goals on Friday evening.

The wind was whipping across the turf on a cool night, but the Tigers were ready to play. USN controlled the game throughout and had a solid lead from start to finish. The final score was 10-4.

USN's midfielders Eva Wuerth '23, Margaret McKay '25, and Julia were strong on the draw, winning eight draw controls on the game. Meanwhile, the defense was solid, led by USN goalie Kate Vaughn '24 who had a solid nine saves with only four goals allowed.

Freshman Cate Laird '26 did not look new to the game as she came up for us time and time again on defense. Annie Cox '24 was strong on attack, but did more than score goals; she led the team in ground balls with six and these mostly came from a strong ride from the attack and middies.

A physical game didn't fluster the Tigers as they maintained control for a win over the Mercy Academy Jaguars on Saturday. After a quick night in a hotel, the Tigers were ready to take to the turf again. The team continued to played well together and shared the load on both ends of the field.

Five different scorers led to the Tigers 10-4 win. Julia, Eva, Margaret, Zelle Jones '25, and Tate Barbieri '25 each added two goals to round out our scoring. Kate had another solid game in the cage with nine saves. Margaret and Julia each added four ground balls to end a great first weekend of play.
