USN students dominate at Perennial Math Tournament
Lower and Middle Schoolers had stellar performances in the Perennial Math Problem-Solving Tournament hosted at Franklin Road Academy.

For the first time, USN also sent a group of 4th-grade students to the competition.
This school-based competition gave students 30 minutes to tackle six exceptionally challenging problems. Lower Schoolers rose to the occasion, putting in impressive effort to take on these unique challenges and representing USN with grit, joy, and incredible sportsmanship.
Maya Gupta ’33, Aaron Wilson ’33, and Jack Semler ’33 tied for 3rd place, while Everett Huffman ’33 tied for 1st out of about 70 4th graders from around the area.

20 Middle Schoolers and 24 Lower Schoolers participated in the Perennial Math Problem Solving Tournament at Franklin Road Academy over the weekend.
Over 190 students, including 41 teams from 11 schools, participated in the competition, which included an individual and team test.
Given our success in the team competition, all 20 Middle School students who were invited to participate qualified to compete in the Perennial Math National Championship in May.

Congratulations to these Middle Schoolers for their hard work and efforts at the tournament:
- Our 5th-grade team won 2nd place. Congrats to Hudson Unger ’32, Hayes Shellenberger ’32, Anisha Nachnani ’32, Lucas Múnoz ’32, and Jessia Huo ’32.
- Jessia Huo ’32 brought home 3rd place in the 5th-grade individual competition.
- Our 6th-grade team won 1st place. Congrats to Lucas Lupu ’31, Zoey Wei ’31, Elliott Karpinos ’31, Charlotte Burgener ’31, and Neel Sinha ’31.
- USN brought home all three individual awards in 6th grade. Lucas Lupu had a perfect score and won first place, Elliott Karpinos won 2nd place, and Zoey Wei won 3rd place in the individual competition.
- Our 7th-grade team won 1st place. Congrats to Syra Bangalore ’30, Saveen Bangalore ’30, Lucy Garrison ’30, Reya Roy ’30, and Anand Pastakia ’30.
- Syra Bangalore won 2nd place in the individual 7th-grade competition.
- Our 8th-grade team won 1st place. Congrats to Matthew Golann ’29, Elinor Bird ’29, James Michels ’29, Syra Tahiliani ’29, and Zoe Russell ’29.
- Matthew Golann won 1st place in the 8th grade individual competition. Elinor Bird won 3rd place in the individual competition.

Back-to-school Popsicle Party canceled
Mother Nature is not cooperating for our annual Popsicle Party. Depending on which weather app you use, actual and feels-like temperatures are 98 to 101 and higher. Under these conditions, we would limit student activities, so, in the interest of everyone's health and well-being, we are going to cancel our gathering at the River Campus. There is just not enough shade and certainly no air conditioning to bring relief to hundreds of USN families. Thank you for understanding.
