Peabody Press writers recognized by THSPA
Henry Knowles '26, Carmen Gaskin '25, and Bronson Schmidt '25 took home awards at this year's THSPA Awards ceremony.

On Monday, March 3, three members of the Peabody Press staff were named as finalists for recognition by the Tennessee High School Press Association.
Congratulations are in order for:
Henry Knowles '26, who won first place for three articles:
-Best News Story, for his coverage of the first solo art show of Eliana Gorden ‘24
-Best Review, for his review of Deadpool & Wolverine
-Best Column, for his opinion piece about the state of American youth soccer.
Carmen Gaskin '25, who won second place for Best Review, for her review of Tyler the Creator’s CHROMOKOPIA album.

The featured speaker at the THSPA Awards this year was Nashville photographer Daniel Meigs who has done freelance work and work for The Nashville Scene and Nfocus Magazine (and whose photo of USN alumna Hunter Claire Rogers ’07 we walk by each morning on the way into the building, on our Alumni Office bulletin board!). Meigs shared his experience of building a career and a professional network from scratch, learning from other professionals, and using our storytelling tools to create pathos and human connection with our audiences.
We are still awaiting feedback on the overall publication and our critique, but the THSPA Awards experience always gives us things to think about and work on for the future, and we'll look forward to putting this action.
And as always, any reader responses, corrections, feedback, or comments are appreciated. Anyone can submit an idea to write a guest column/feature/article, or submit a news tip on something you think needs to be covered by our staff.

HS athletics recaps for September 11-17
Tiger golfers have officially qualified for the region tournament, and our other teams are not far behind. Volleyball sits near the top of the district, finishing up regular season play next week with Senior Night. Girls soccer continues to hold first place in the district after another 9-0 win, and our cross country runners are chasing after some school records. To round it all out, our mountain bike team traveled to Oakfield to continue to improve on their times for the season. There’s plenty more where that came from- so be sure to come out to the River Campus, Sperling Gym, or out on the road to cheer on our Tigers before their seasons end.Read More -

Middle School volleyball and tennis teams are nearing the final games of their seasons, with the competition heating up while the Tigers play to determine their HVAC rankings. Cross country was finally able to race at the River Campus despite the heat, and our mountain biking team traveled to Oakfield, Tennessee, for a high-temperature race weekend.Read More -
