Lunch is served

Get ready for nutritionally balanced, tasty meals and snacks from SAGE Dining Services. Read on for updates on cafeteria operations.
By Teresa Standard, Chief Financial Officer

When students return to campus for their first full day of school for the 2022-2023 school year, the Sperling Cafeteria will be ready with full offerings for the line service for first through 12 graders. Students are also welcome to brown bag from home. USN is replacing and adding to the large cooking equipment with new stovetops, ovens, and fryers to support SAGE Dining Services’ effort to provide fresh and healthy choices for our students and faculty.

SAGE offers students a choice of a lunch entrée served with two side items. Fruit and dessert are also available. Families with students in grades 1-12 are automatically eligible to go through the serving line to purchase lunch using their four-digit student code at check out with the charges billed a month in arrears through TADS Billing System. Kindergarten families can sign up for the weekly, one-day-a-week Wednesday lunch plan at usn.org/cafeteria.

The daily price for lunch for Grades 1-4 is $7.50 and for Grades 5-12 is $8. Kindergartner’s Wednesday-only lunch plan for the year is $210.

Monthly lunch menus are available on the cafeteria menu page or by downloading the Touch of SAGE mobile app. Students and families can filter menus for food allergens and dietary restrictions to easily find meals that suit them. An additional selection of grab-and-go a la carte items are offered during lunch to High School students. Click here to read the welcome letter from SAGE.

Divisions and the SAGE Dining Services team will work closely to ensure all coronavirus precautions and procedures are closely followed during the year, with the understanding that the needs may be subject to change, as has been the experience since spring 2020. In addition to typical lunch operations, the Sperling Cafeteria will be open for students in Grades 5-12 from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. for breakfast and from 2:20 to 3:20 p.m. for snacks each day with billing a month in arrears through the TADS Billing system.

For questions regarding cafeteria operations, menus, and other dietary-related concerns, please contact SAGE Food Service Director Kelly Mozzi at sage@usn.org or 615-321-8003. For questions regarding payment or billing, please contact the Business Office at studentbilling@usn.org.
