University School of Nashville will confer diplomas upon the Class of 2022 during its Commencement at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29 on Magnolia Lawn, immediately across the street from the school at 2000 Edgehill Ave. A reception will follow in the Auditorium.
The Class of 2022 is the 103rd graduating class from University School of Nashville, previously known as Peabody Demonstration School, since the school was founded in 1915. Twelve percent of this class was recognized for its top PSAT scores with eight National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalists and four National Merit Commended Students. In August, these 99 graduates will head to more than 60 colleges and universities across the country. At least six of them plan to play a sport (basketball, track and field) at the collegiate level.
The 19th Avenue lot is reserved for those who need accessibility parking accommodations; please help us keep that lot free for those who need it. All other guests are welcomed to park in USN's 21st Avenue lot. Overflow parking is available across the street from the 19th Avenue parking lot (Vanderbilt ROTC lot) or Lot 77. USN will run shuttles to Magnolia Lawn beginning at 12:30 p.m. Click here for a map. Graduating students are expected to park in Vanderbilt’s Lot 77 and should arrive at the Hassenfeld Library by 12:30 p.m.
Beneath a large white tent, nearly 2,000 seats will be available to families, friends, and faculty. A section of immediate family seating is reserved at the front of the tent nearest the stage. For special accommodations for a handicapped guest, contact High School Administrative Assistant Laura Snow.
A medical tent will be set up on-site, and a USN bus will double as a cooling station for the event. Water will be located throughout the venue.

University School of Nashville will recognize Distinguished Alumna Cheryl McKissack Daniel ’79 her pioneering work as a builder during the Class of 2026’s Convocation on Tuesday, May 12.
The Quiz Bowl team won second place in the South Warren Spartan Open tournament, qualifying the team for the 2026 High School National Championship tournament. Congratulations to Basil Broemel '28 and Jasmine Horwitz '26 for placing seventh and ninth, respectively.
Students and faculty have resumed composting at USN. Through collaboration, persistence, and student leadership across all divisions, the program has already gotten off to a great start.
