Art students' works on display at Cheekwood

Chosen from nearly 1,600 submissions, USN Middle and High School students earned 38 Middle Tennessee Scholastic Art Awards for their artwork now included in a Cheekwood Estate & Gardens exhibition.

The Arts Department would like to congratulate all students who participated in the 29th Annual Middle Tennessee Scholastic Art Awards. This year 22 USN students received 38 total awards: five Gold Key Awards, 10 Silver Key Awards, and 23 Honorable Mentions. The Gold Key awarded artwork will move on for national adjudication this spring.    

The 2020 Middle Tennessee Scholastic Art Awards are one of the most prestigious student art competitions nationwide. Its exhibition will be hosted in the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens art galleries through Sunday, March 15. Gold Key works will be displayed physically, Silver Key works will be displayed digitally on a screen in the exhibition space.

Due to overcrowding in past years, they will celebrate the winning artists with two ceremonies at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, February 8 with USN students honored during the latter event.
