Help USN make Halloween merry, not scary
While students, faculty, and staff are welcome to wear costumes — along with their regular face masks and coverings — to school on Friday, October 30, many traditional Halloween activities can be high-risk for spreading viruses. USN strongly recommends families take the CDC's Halloween guidance to heart and consider the frightening impact parties and trick-or-treating could have on our school community in the ensuing days.
Students may wear costumes crafted in good taste to school Friday, October 30. Halloween costumes should adhere to the USN dress code, which states, “Attire that is revealing, patently offensive, distracting or otherwise counterproductive to the learning process is not acceptable.” Everyone also must continue to abide by the school's COVID-19 mitigation strategies by wearing a face covering or mask over the nose and mouth. Students and parents with questions about appropriate selections should contact their Division heads.

- Shoes are required.
- Toy weapons should not be brought to class.
- Please be mindful USN is a K-12 school. Costumes should not be gory or anything that might scare a young child.
- We will have a regular day of classes, so make sure costumes do not limit students' ability to participate normally.
- Bring appropriate clothes for recess, physical education, or sports if your costume will prohibit normal participation.
