Quiz Bowl Team places 2nd in North Gwinnett International Tournament
As a result of its second place finish at the NGIT, the eighth graders Collin, Ophelia, Caroline, and Rohan qualified for the Middle School National Championship Tournament in May 2021.

On Saturday, November 14, Middle School Quiz Bowlers competed in the North Gwinnett Invitational Tournament IV via Zoom. The field included nine teams that finished in the top 100 at the last Middle School National Championship.
In a highly competitive field, Collin Chan '25, Ophelia Cherry-Pulay '25, Caroline Keiper '25, and Rohan Ramachandran '25 placed second, losing to David T. Howard Middle School in the finals. As a result, they qualified for the Middle School National Championship Tournament in May 2021. The foursome went 8-1 over the daylong tournament.
John Bivens '25, Beckett Dahir '25, Jackson Green '26, Alice Littlehale '26, and Brendan West '25 earned a bye in the playoffs by going 4-1 in the preliminary rounds. In the playoffs, they lost to the Baldwin Arts and Academics Magnet School 235-225. Baldwin went on to finish third in the tournament. USN went 4-2 overall with two losses by a combined 15 points against teams that finished in the top 70 at Nationals in 2019.
Individually, Rohan was the second highest scorer in the preliminary rounds. Also, Brendan and Jackson scored in the top 20 at ninth and 19th, respectively.
