Students excel on national Latin exam

The American Classical League recognized 41 University School of Nashville students for their scores on the National Latin Exam this year.

The American Classical League recognized 80 percent of the USN Latin Scholars who took the National Latin Exam in March for their outstanding performance. Each year, the ACL recognizes about 40 percent of the 100,000 students who take the exam worldwide.

Forty-one USN Scholars received one of the ACL’s four levels of recognition.

Fifteen Scholars received Gold Summa Cum Laude, the ACL’s highest award. Collin Chan '25, Clio Cherry-Pulay '29, Dalton Dervan '28, Cody Farr '26, Daniel Guo '25, Asher Huffman '29, Harper Hughey '29, Sam Luffman '25, Hattie Molvig '25, Cole Patterson '24, Abe Sharstein '28, Charlotte Soslow '28, Maggie Weiss '28, Annie Williamson '28, and Suzie Zhao '28.

In addition, the ACL awarded the next two levels of recognition to 11 Scholars each.

The Silver Maxima Cum Laude winners were Basil Broemel '28, Lucia Gellert '27, Elliot George '29, Evan Giles '26, Matthew Golann '29, Asha Guha '28, Caroline Keiper '25, Adeline Miller '28, Sarah Page-McCaw '24, Karsen Puzniak '27, and Eli Schuster '28.

The Magna Cum Laude winners were Charlie Blau '27, CC Cook '29, Lexa Drewry '27, Lily Duong '28, Isaac Fulton '25, Jack Fruin '27, Jackson Green '26, Houston Hirt '28, Laura Hirt '24, Gil Jones '29, and Burcham Stanley '28.

Flora Li '27, Reuben Mata '25, Coco Shepherd '27, and Amelia Wilson '29 were Cum Laude winners.
