University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers Clinches Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers took the lead late in the game in a 6-1 victory over Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity on Saturday. The game was tied at one with University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Owen Block tripled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers got things moving in the second inning. Aidan Savona drove in one when Savona singled.
University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers scored four runs in the sixth inning. University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers batters contributing to the big inning included Savona, Carson Darr, and Block, who all drove in runs.
Grant Reilly got the win for University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers. The righthander surrendered one run on two hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one. Alexander Peck threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Brady Schneiderman started the game for Hume-Fogg Blue Knights Varsity. The pitcher surrendered one run on five hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one. George Esposito and Jack Word entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.
Savona started the game for University School of Nashville Varsity Tigers. The righty went two and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out two
