Fifth Grade Social Studies Teacher Connie Fink was named National Teacher of the Week by The Week Junior, a news publication for students ages 8-14 that provides the facts behind what’s happening in the world and empowers Gen Alpha to develop and voice their own point of view.
Fink was chosen from a nationwide pool of teachers after being nominated by former student Lauren Koethe ’31.
“Mrs. Fink is the best teacher ever. She’s the sweetest, kindest, most loving person on the planet. You feel a sense of safety when you’re around Mrs. Fink. She’s super understanding and easy to talk to. Her sense of humor is also amazing,” Lauren wrote in her nomination. “I was lucky to be in her advisory this year, and it has been a blast! Mrs. Fink shows no judgment toward anyone. She is the most positive person ever! She is the reason I love middle school so much.”
Consisting of 82 High Schoolers, the Model U.N. team returned to the Model United Nations conference and delivered a stellar performance, keeping USN’s tradition of providing leadership from the front, in the middle, and at the end of the conference going.
Students in Fifth Grade English Teacher Kevin Foster’s class wrapped up a lesson on storytelling and personal reflection by sharing their stories with members of the USN community.
This year's High School musical, "Into the Woods" will run from Thursday, November 20 through Sunday, November 23 in Durnan Auditorium. Click here to purchase tickets.
