3rd annual HBCU Fair is August 24
University School of Nashville invites all public, private, and charter high school students and their families to meet admissions officers from historically Black colleges & universities and "The Guide to College for Black Families" authors Tim Fields and Shereem Herndon-Brown. Save the date Saturday, August 24 for Nashville's third Annual HBCU Fair, which will be held 2 to 4 p.m. at University School of Nashville, 2000 Edgehill Ave.
Following the resounding success of last year's event, USN is thrilled to host Nashville's HBCU Fair once again. This event is the opportunity for Middle Tennessee high school students and their families to meet with admissions officers and administrators from historically Black colleges and universities throughout the country. Last year, over 800 people attended the HBCU Fair, with some colleges even extending acceptances on the spot and advising prospective students on scholarship opportunities.
HBCUs present in 2023 were Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, Alcorn State University, American Baptist College, Bethune-Cookman University, Clark Atlanta University, Fisk University, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Hampton University, Jackson State University, Morehouse College, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, North Carolina Central University, Spelman College, Tennessee State University, Tougaloo College, Tuskegee University. USN has extended invitations have also been extended to HBCUs present at Norfolk State University and Talladega College. Let these schools know you are coming by registering at usn.org/HBCUfair.
As a special highlight of the fair, parents and families have the opportunity to hear from Tim Fields and Shereem Herndon-Brown, the authors of “The Guide to College for Black Families.” Their insights and advice are invaluable for anyone considering higher education.

Spring sports season ends with podium finishes, trophies
The girls lacrosse team ended its season in overtime to become state runner-up. Tennis players Carter Kojetin '29 finished as a state quarterfinalist, Sophie Oliver '26 and Mary Kate Adler '28 finished as state semifinalists, and Veer Kodali '29 and Max Parker '29 finished as state champions. Meanwhile, eight runners competed at the state track and field meet in Knoxville, where Griffin Davidson '27, Caleb Freifeld '28, Drew Zwerner '28, and Jack Fruin '27, sprinted to first in the 4x800m relay and Jack also placed first in the 800m dash.Read More -

Middle School Quiz Bowl competes at national championship
The Middle School Quiz Bowl finished off another successful season with a trip to the Middle School National Championship Tournament in Chicago. The team fought hard and ended the season as a top-100 program in the country, finishing 75th overall. Congratulations to the team on a great performance and to Lucas Lupu ’31, named an All Star for being the fifth-highest scorer nationwide.Read More
