Our shots were falling, but lack of discipline and defensive principles allowed BGA win, 25-35.
A better game coming off a rough loss against Ensworth. This game against Battle Ground Academy showed a lot of skills and concepts flow in real time through all the quarters. More teammates were contributing and being aggressive earlier on and it was exciting to see everyone play more physically! Defensive positioning and having good footwork for shooting seems to be our main weaknesses. When we recalibrate our focus to those things it should make our offense and defense more efficient! As we get more proficient at scoring, the next step is to limit the other team from scoring!
FG 2s: 12/28 → 42% is amazing! While 28 shot attempts is low for us the efficiency is awesome and definitely a step in the right direction!
FG 3s: 0/3 → While we missed all of our attempts I’d love for us to try to get at least 7 3pt shot attempts
TOs: 13 → Not a super messy game, but the turnovers that we had were due to us rushing bad passes, not necessarily BGA’s defense being super amazing
Fouls: 15 → Based on how the referees were calling fouls this stat shows that we weren’t adjusting to them and we need to play with the referees, not against them
Rebounds: 13 → Not as aggressive on the boards as I’d like. We need to get at least 22
