  • Lily Duong Inducted to our USN Undefeated Club!

7th grader, Lily Duong, has had an exceptional MS Girls Tennis season ending the season as an Individual Champion in the HVAC AA Girls Tennis Tournament.  Throughout the season, she defeated every opponent she encountered, losing a mere 7 games in her 11-0 competitive campaign.  She is our undefeated line 1 singles champion playing against the best of the best each week.
In the past 12 years, USN has seen only 6 other girls have undefeated seasons; 2 time undefeated player Talia Stein '18, 3 time undefeated players Mia Pretorias '19, Georgia Fischer, MS player '13-'15, and this past spring three HS players, Gabby Siew '23, Mills Morgan Ratliff '23 and Meera Boyapati '23 earned the esteemed title of 'UNDEFEATED".
We are so proud of Lily!
    She is our TIGER Lily!
  • HVAC....SURPRISE!!

Our 7 mighty Match Girls came to Harpeth Hall for our season ending HVAC Tournament.  Competing against HH, BA and Ensworth was going to be a daunting task, but our Tigers were up to the challenge.
Coming into the Tournament, Lily Duong was undefeated at line 1 singles and had a good chance to come away with a medal.  Her opponents both fell to the more skilled Lily. She claimed the line 1 singles Championship medal!
Ruchika and Alexandria (team Alexika) set their own personal goal of winning a point for the team and they accomplished that goal in an exciting tie break against a  feisty HH doubles team. Zara, Abbey, Ayla/Johnsie put up valiant fights against their opponents, but all fell just a little short of their match goals.
Ensworth won the team trophy and in a surprising upset, USN won over HH to claim the Runner Up Team Award!
    GO TIGERS!
  • Our Tennis Tigers End Season with a 8-2 Record!

After a tough couple of match losses to Harpeth Hall (2-3) and a very strong Ensworth team (1-4), our Tigers ended with an impressive 8-2 match season record!  In addition to our strong season record, we applaud our #1 singles player, Lily Duong, who had an undefeated season, losing a total of only 5 games all season!  Perfect attendance and a perfect match record!
Even though our regular season has ended, our 7 Match Girls will compete in the HVAC AA Tournament on Monday, Sept. 26 at the courts of Harpeth Hall. Match play will start at 2:00 on Monday and we will get to see our Tigers compete one more time.  Other teams in this tournament will be Ensworth, Harpeth Hall and Brentwood Academy.
    GO TIGERS!
  • JV Girls on a HOT Streak at Grassland MS

Coach LP and her band of six JV players traveled to Grassland MS for their last match of the season.  Amid a heat wave, our JV Tennis Tigers went on a HOT streak and pulled out some exciting wins!  Maya and Dylan, both in singles won exciting Tie breakers to give them each wins.  Natalie, Lexa, Olivia and Adelaide rounded out our roster playing singles and doubles.  Our cool JV girls showed their toughness in the heat.  A good satisfying end of our JV match season for sure.
    GO TIGERS!
  • Tennis Tigers Bounce Back to Pounce on Pope Prep

Our Tigers bounced back after our narrow loss to HH, ready to tackle our next opponent, Pope Prep.  Leading off at line 1, Lily kept her goal of winning 8 straight games to give us our first point.  With Ruchika under the weather, Johnsie stepped in to double up with Alexandria at line 1 doubles to give us our second point. Zara and Abbey captured the next two points in line 2 and 3 singles to swing our momentum in high gear as Maya and Ayla took line 2 to a 8-4 win!  A sweep for the Tigers as they pounced on Pope Prep with a match score of 5-0.

  • Tennis Tigers Fall Short to HH Honey Bears

Although the final match score shows that the Tigers fell short to the HH Honey Bears 2-3, we had 2 strong singles wins.  Lily at line 1 is still undefeated and demonstrated her skills in a decisive 8-1 win.  Abbey at line 3 played a much more confident game than her last outing at HH, winning 8-6.
Line 2 singles, Zara, fought hard and kept it close but came up just a little short against her opponent.
Team Alexika came up against a HH doubles team that was out to get a win, having been denied at our last match, and ended the match with a hard played 6-8 score.  Ayla and Johnsie represented us at line 2 doubles but their opponents were too much to handle on this day at River Campus.  Exhibition doubles saw Maya and Adelaide practicing their skills and Ayla jumping in for some singles practice.
We will see the Honey Bears again in the upcoming HVAC Tourney.
    Onward and upward!
  • Tennis Tigers Stomp the St Cecilia Scarabs

A newly reorganized St. Cecilia team of 7th and 8th grader players made their way to River Campus only to find a more experienced, more skilled team of Tennis Tigers than they expected.
Lily (undefeated at line 1), Zara, Abbey, Team Alexika (also undefeated at Line 1 doubles) and Johnsie and Ayla (Team Aylsie) contributed wins to our team score.
A total team win of 5-0 was enhanced by Exhibition Doubles of Adelaide and Maya (Team Mayalaide) won as well as Dylan and Bielle, each of whom played a singles match, adding three more match wins to the end of the match.
    GO TIGERS!
  • USN Tennis Tigers Capture the BA Eagles 4-1!

The Brentwood Academy Eagles traveled to River Campus today and were met by some very eager Tigers.
Our girls were ready for battle and, clearly, our Tigers were too much for them.  Strong wins at lines 1,2 Singles; Lily and Zara captured two points early in the match.  Team Alexika (Alexandria and Ruchika) at line 1 doubles had to problem solve to get a 9-7 victory, staying calm and focused.  Johnsie and Maya at line 2 doubles had a good win, playing together for the first time.
Today's exhibition players Ayla and Adelaide saw improvement in strokes and decision making on the court as they each had a singles match.
It has been a strong season and more tennis ahead!
    GO TIGERS!
