  • msXC HVAC Championships recap

    Zaf
We capped off a very successful season yesterday at the HVAC Championships at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin. Unbelievable weather, great competition, and a fast course provided nice results for our harriers. The HVAC is the toughest MS XC conference in the state!

GIRLS - team placed 3rd (out of six) in Div AA  - Ella Steinhilber capped off a stellar season with and HVAC Championship win, by controlling the field from the start and pulling away half way into the race! Also posting All HVAC accolades were Olivia Dossett 8th and Parker O'Hara 15th.  Claire Thompson 38th and Lilly Woo 40th rounded off our team score. Our pushers were Hannah Laibinis 53rd and Neha Saggi 54th. The girls ran very well and they set the stage for the boys.

BOYS - team placed 2nd (out of six) in Div AA -  Timothy Hays led the Tiger charge with a 7th place finish and Alistair Womack 11th, Elias Woolsey 14th posted ALL HVAC honors. Pelham Bergesen just missed the cut at 16th, and Neil Narayanan 19th contributed for our team score. Our pushers were Clayton Jelsma 27th and Arjun Dasari 39th. The boys celebrated a very successful season losing only to one team this fall, and the majority of them are returning next year!

  • msXC meet #3 recap at the Farm....

    Zaf
Slightly cooler temps and a fast HVAC Championship course were in the order of the day as our harriers scorched the course with fast times and great efforts. Despite losing two team leaders to sickness, our girls team placed 2nd and the BOYS WON! The boys are undefeated so far this season and our girls have two losses, to Ens and HH.

GIRLS - Olivia Dossett took charge, since her friends were out sick, and she posted a huge PR 14'09.13 and placed 7th overall. Sarah Stack 16th, in her first race of the season, was our second team member with a 15'14.86 and she was followed closely by Parker O'Hara 17th 15'25.43. Rounding out the scoring positions also were Lilly Woo 30th 16'35.85, Claire Thompson 31st 16'38.27, Neha Saggi 34th 16'43.40 and Hannah Laibinis 36th 16'46.12. Lilly and Claire were the surprises of the day with their top 5 team scoring finishes!

BOYS - Timothy Hays took charge of the race from the gun and went unpressed in his win and posted an 11'58 effort. Alistair Womack 12'36, Pelham Bergesen 12'37, Clayton Jelsma 12'51 and Oscar Fox 13'17 rounded out the top 5 in scoring position. Elias Woolsey 13'18 and Neil Narayanan 13'32 assisted in the team effort.. Pelham posted a big improvement today and we are always grateful for the leadership that Alistair and Myles Bishop provide for the boys!

A disclaimer: We use FAT (fully automatic timing) at the RC and we do not at other locations, so there are no complete race results. Thus, I will forward the team spreadsheet to you shortly with your performances.
  • msXC meet #2 recap at the RC

    Zaf
It was hot and heavy once again at the RC for the second meet of the season, and our harriers still competed with spirit! Both teams won and many of our runners improved on their last performance.

GIRLS - Ella Steinhilber wins again @ 13'35, leading Olivia Dossett 6th 16'01, Maggie Robinson 7th 16'01, Parker O'Hara 8th 16'22 and Neha Saggi 16th 17'24 in scoring position. Lilly Woo 17th 17'25 and Hannah Laibinis 18th 17'55 rounded out our top seven. Fifth grader Lily Steinhilber placed 3rd overall 15'28.

BOYS - Timothy Hays placed 2nd @ 13'01 and teammates Alistair Womack 3rd 13'32, Clayton Jelsma 5th 13'47, Oscar Fox 6th 13'49, and Pelham Bergeson 7th 13'49 posted our team score. Rounding out the top seven were Neil Narayanan 8th 14'48 and Arjun DaSari 10th 14'20. Fifth grader Joshua Scretchen placed 4th overall 13'40. As the clouds rolled in to cool things off, our boys almost posted a perfect score.

The goal today was to work on pace and improving our weekly effort, and almost everyone delivered. Perhaps the tale of the tape was Mayowa @ 20'55 or Neil @ 14'04 posting huge PR's! Kudo's to ALL out Tiger Harriers for a job well done!

Next week we travel to Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin to preview the Championship course.

  • msXC meet recap #1 at the RC Hot and Heavy

    Zaf
There were hot times for our Edgehill harriers yesterday and they all braved the heat and posted a good first effort on the 2014 season. Our intention was clearly to get in a training effort and not to push the limits, considering the heat, and it turned out to be a good start to the season. We will build our races from here!!

GIRLS - Ella Steinhilber led the way by posting a victory and leading our team to a 2nd place finish, a scant 7 points off Ensworth School.Olivia Dossett 5th, Maggie Robinson 7th, Parker O'hara 9th and Hannah Laibinis 15th provided the push for our team score. Surprise 5th grader Lilly Steinhilber placed 6th overall, unfortunately the 5th grade compete as "exhibition" non-scoring runners.

BOYS - Timothy Hays led the boys to a team win and his fist ever individual win, the Centennial season! Alistair Womack 3rd, Pelham Bergeson 6th, Oscar (Peter Pan) Fox 7th and Phillip Sherman 11th posted our top five scoring positions. Another 5th grader Joshua Scretchen placed 4th, and again as an "exhibition" non-scoring runner.
