  Winged Deer Trails Challenge Mountain Bike Team

  Due to race travel distance and other conflicts, the MTB team fielded a “half-size” team of 13 riders to compete on our 4th race of the 2025 season at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City, TN. The HS team claimed 17th place for the race but remained in 19th overall, while the MS team placed 12th but retained its 9th place overall standing.

  Race #3 for the MTB team at Lock #4 trails, Absi claims team’s first podium

  The 3rd race of the NICA-TICL season was held at Lock 4 Park in Gallatin, utilizing the very familiar 4.5 mile loop that’s been in our race series for more than a dozen years. The middle school team moved its way into the top 10 of 28 teams, and 9th grader Elsa Absi powered her way into a 5th place podium spot in the JV3 category.

  MTB Racers zoom through Rockabilly Ridge Race

  After drenching rains on Friday and Saturday, the sandy Rockabilly Ridge course luckily dried out for the Mountain Bike Team’s second race at Pugh Bourne Park trails just outside of Jackson, TN. Inspired by Sunday's near-perfect trail conditions and high 70s temperatures making for a superb and sunny racing day, 2 dozen USN mountain bikers dug deep and showed significant gains typically riding 2 or 3 3-mile laps.

  Veteran and new mountain bikers roll through Chickasaw Trace Trails for first race

  23 of our 27 MS and HS cycling team members were able to compete on Sunday August 24th at Chickasaw Trace Trails in Columbia, TN. This race was the first of 5 competitions across Tennessee as part of the Tennessee Interscholastic Cycling League (TICL) series, part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) league which now has more than 30 states competing in mountain bike races.
