Tigers Strike First but Columbia Academy Offense Can't be Contained

Baseball went on the road Monday, 4/15, to face Columbia Academy, which currently sits in 2nd place in the district. USN got on the board in the 2nd inning when Carson Darr ‘25 led off the inning with a double. Mahoney Daunic ‘24 would advance Carson to 3rd base with a beautiful sacrifice bunt. Joseph Ozenne ‘24 would draw a walk, putting runners on the corners for the Tigers. On the first pitch to Eli Whelan ‘28, Joseph stole second base, and Carson was able to score on the throw to 2nd base. With one out and a runner on second, Joseph would show his elite speed again, stealing 3rd base. Andrew Walker ‘26 would collect an RBI on a groundball hit to the 3rd baseman, scoring Joseph. Unfortunately, the Tigers wouldn’t score again. The CA bats would get hot in the bottom of the 3rd plating 6. Columbia would go on to win the game 12-2.
