Tigers Drop Home Opener to Pope John Paul II Prep

Michael Eisen
The Tigers lost their home opener 6-1 to Pope John Paul II Prep. PJP II jumped out to a five run first inning through a combination of timely hitting and defensive lapses by USN. The Tigers settled down after the first inning and were able to limit the scoring but the offense was unable to put together enough hits to make a comeback. Although overall a disappointing day for the Tigers, Ram Chitale provided a highlight making a “big league” stop up the middle from his second base position that garnered a “wow” from all that were in attendance. Adrian Hufford also did well in his pitching debut coming in as a reliever.
