USN bests PCA in Pitchers Duel

Both teams were strong on Monday, but University School of Nashville defeated Providence Christian Academy 3-2 at Vanderbilt's Hawkins Field. Mahoney Daunic '24 started the game for USN and recorded 20 of 21 outs.

The Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the 4th after Daunic singled, scoring Alexander Peck '25, who had doubled to lead off the inning. Andrew Walker '26 grounded out, scoring Grant Reilly '24 from third base. Dylan Washko '24 capped off the scoring with a sacrifice fly, scoring Daunic.

Daunic earned the win for the Tigers. The right-hander allowed three hits and two runs over 6.2 innings, striking out six and walking two. Reilly collected the save in .1 innings of relief. Peck led USN's offense with two hits. Tigers improve to 6-3 overall and 2-3 in district play.
