Back to the Fundamentals

The Tigers had some amazing moments on offense, but couldn't stop Antioch from taking over in the last inning. A tough loss 14-16, but one filled with a lot of amazing moments!
The Tigers had their most complete offensive game against Antioch with 4 runs in the first inning and 5 runs in the second and third innings. Unfortunately Antioch exploded in the second inning with a grand-slam, which helped them earn 7 runs, and closed out the game in the fourth inning with 5 runs.

Some offensive highlights came from Alena Ellis ‘25, who lit it up with a stellar hitting performance, going 3/3 with two singles and her first triple of the season and earning 5 RBIS! And then Yvonne Thomas ‘25 and Caroline Keiper ‘25 also showed out with some great hits that led to a total of RBIs!

While the Tigers unfortunately had double digit errors, there were so many great hustle plays and notable concepts the defense was trying to execute. The Tigers did a great job working on defensive shifts, throw downs, play calling and more that will only become faster and more effective after every game!

Some defensive highlights came from Ash Weinman ‘26, who tracked a foul ball past third for a great out, Asausda Radford ‘25, who had a stupendous diving play at shortstop, and Caroline Keiper ‘25 who was a defensive stalwart behind the plate and really showed reliability and toughness. Alena Ellis ‘25 helped keep the team in the game with her best pitching performance of her career with 4 strikeouts, a 60% strike percentage, and only allowed Antioch 6 hits.

It’s clear this team has the skill and capabilities to compete and win, so this game was full of teachable moments and highlights that should excite all players and fans of this program as this team continues to grow and improve! Keep it up Tigers and  let's continue to seize every opportunity to improve!
