USN drops to talented Ensworth squad

Tate Barbieri '25 leads the Tigers with 2 goals.
Ensworth High School graciously hosted our team after a washout rain kept us off of our grass field on Tuesday.  The crosstown Tigers have a well-established and dominant program and demonstrated that against the USN Tigers in the first quarter.

USN's defense, communication, and solid saves from goalie Kate Vaughn '24 kept Ensworth at bay for the first two minutes of the game, but then Ensworth turned on the heat and scored 12 goals in the first quarter.  The remainder of the game was competitive, with USN getting lots of practice sliding strong to ball, protecting our sticks in the midfield, and making good decisions on attack. Olivia Hess '24 led our defense with strong on the ball defense.

We had four goals as a team (Tate Barbieri '25 - 2, Margaret McKay '25 - 1, Celeste Green '27 - 1) and two were assisted.  Kate Vaughn played a strong game in goal with 7 saves, 6 ground balls, and 2 interceptions.
