Finding Opportunities to be Great!
The USN Tigers learned some tough lessons against the Ensworth Tigers, but despite the loss, this experience will teach them how to fight through adversity and never give up. Basketball isn't static, and the future for these players look bright!
The USN Tigers had a tough game against the Ensworth Tigers Thursday night. The first half had USN playing fast and pushing pace, despite the aggressiveness and their shot opportunities, too many had the unlucky bounce off the rim. In a flurry of physical defense and offensive schemes Ensworth was able to take a commanding lead, 8-26.
In the second half USN ran into untimely fouls and an injury to point guard CC Cook ‘29. USN tried to fight through the press, but they were met with strong, physical traps that put them in tough situations. From there USN wasn’t able to rally, despite all the shots they put up and their defense flying around, it was a tiring game and Ensworth was able to keep pushing ahead, the final score was 12-52. Our Tigers had moments of brilliance and excellence, but the shots weren’t falling their way.
When things get tough that’s an opportunity to grow - in basketball skills, in concepts, and in mental toughness. The Tiger’s learned a tough lesson, but it’s clear they are going to come back stronger from this hard game. The notable players of the game were Zara Campos ‘28 with 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals, Yori Crozier ‘29 with 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, and Johnsie Dawkins ‘28 with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Keep shooting, keep fighting through adversity, and keep finding your opportunities to be great! Go Tigers!
