Putting Fours Quarter Together
In the Tiger’s 3rd game of the week, Valor was able to earn the win with strong, fast, athletic play and while the Tigers found times they were able to compete, Valor was more consistent throughout the game
It was another game where the Tigers faced an unusual zone. Valor ran a strong 1-1-3 which let them take advantage of their team's quick players and their long players. The Tigers were able to find the soft spots in the zone early on, giving the Tigers a quick lead into the first. But as the second half went on, the Tigers began speeding themselves up, which led to self made turnovers and Valor gaining confidence. Valor ended up leading into the half.
The second half was more competitive with USN showing some life with great gap and help-side defense to clog up the paint against their skilled guards. In the third and fourth quarter USN's defense kept Valor from going off but the Tiger's offense wasn't able to close the gap past 8 points. The game ended with USN keeping it close, but unable to get over the hump.
The notable players of the game were Yori Crozier with 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 6 points and Johnsie Dawkins with 6 points and 4 steals. It was a truly fun game that taught everyone how to play fast, fun, aggressive basketball. This only helped the young Tigers become more confident and excited. Keep it up Tigers!
